ECO4 Scheme
It operates as an Energy Company Obligation Scheme, wherein major energy companies in the UK are mandated to lower carbon emissions and strive towards achieving complete carbon neutrality.
Many households in the UK currently possess an Energy Efficiency rating below a D. The UK Government is dedicated to enhancing the energy efficiency of as many homes as feasible, aiming to achieve an EPC Band C rating for all homes by 2035.
The ECO4 Scheme spans over 4 years from 2022 to 2026 and is valued at £4 billion. This funding is allocated to implement energy efficiency and heating measures in homes across the UK.
Private landlords qualify for mains gas FTCH (First Time Central Heating) and Renewable Technologies under this scheme, but they are not eligible for gas boiler upgrades.
All measures under the ECO4 Scheme must be implemented by an approved Trustmark installer who holds all the necessary qualifications.
Qualified Retrofit Assessors will conduct assessments, overseen by a Retrofit Coordinator. Any installations carried out under the ECO4 funding will include Insurance Backed Guarantees.
The ECO4 Scheme applies exclusively to homeowners and tenants who receive means-tested benefits or child benefits, subject to income thresholds.
